In Davis, the garage is often where the bikes live, alongside the car, the workbench and sometimes a home office. That means the door goes up and down more than you’d think, and a door that’s loud or slow gets noticed fast.
The city’s housing spans several decades. Older neighborhoods in central, north and west Davis have doors and openers that have been repaired more than once, while Mace Ranch and Wildhorse in east and north Davis are newer homes whose original springs and openers are now wearing out.
We handle spring repair, opener repair and replacement, cables, tracks and new garage doors from CHI, Clopay, Amarr and Wayne Dalton.
Springs are essential pieces of a garage door that need to be functional to ensure your door actually goes up and down properly.
Normal use may eventually shift or damage the tracks; get a quick garage track repair and keep thos doors gliding smoothly.
Cables are essential for the safe use of your garage door, so let’s be sure your cables are repaired with long-lasting replacements.

Davis summers are long, dry and often over 100°F, with cooler evenings when the Delta breeze arrives. Winters bring tule fog. The heat dries out lubricant and weatherstripping, and the cold mornings are when worn springs usually break.
A few easy habits help: lubricate rollers and hinges once or twice a year, keep the safety sensors clean and aligned (bikes and bins knock them out of place), and replace a cracked bottom seal before winter. If you’re upgrading, an insulated door makes a garage workshop much more comfortable.
